Story is incredibly quiet and stoic - her emotions rarely show on her face and she doesn't speak unless spoken to. It's very observant, and in its silence will generally pick up on small details of behavior and surroundings that others don't notice. Doll is a collector by nature and tends to keep small groups of things doll likes in dolls home such as figures, hair bows, and pretty rocks. She's very easily startled and easily overwhelmed by her surroundings, which is why when not in classes she spends as much time at home as possible. It doesn't communicate its feelings well at all, and often feels trapped in cycles of negative emotions and thoughts that it doesn't know how to express.
Biography:
Story's birth parents were in poverty, and they gave her up for adoption when she was a baby in hopes of giving her a chance at a better life. Unfortunately though when she was adopted, it was by members of a cult-like religious group that immediately inducted her into their practices.
Due to the abuse experienced from her adoptive family growing up, Story was incredibly isolated, and as a young teen began to get into the occult via library books. Such books were usually forbidden by her family, so in secret she would indulge them, and she became especially fascinated by eldritch horrors. Thus, when she was 15, in an attempt to free herself from her situation she performed a ritual meant to summon an eldritch god alone in her room.
She was not expecting the resulting eldritch horror to present to her as a normal looking woman - and said horror immediately took note of her situation and her potential for power. Thus, the being struck her a deal - if she would agree to perform tasks for them when she was an adult, they would remove her from her situation and give her a better life.
Desperate for options, Story agreed - and thus, for the next 3 years she endured her family waiting for the time. True to their word, the moment she turned 18 the horror came back, and possessed her body to give her a new form and new capabilities. Thus, harnessing her new power and her new partner, Story killed her entire family and fled the house.
The eldritch god, who simply said they could be addressed as Lisa, now took the form of a doll faceplate on her left stocking. They essentially used their powers to secure Story an apartment close to a college in a different town, promising that they would keep her comfortable, safe, and educated as long as she upheld her part of the deal. She was happy to do so now that she was free of her family, and this became her new life. By day she went to college, living a new and normal life, and by night she took up her new eldritch form and completed tasks in the realm of the old gods as directed. She continues to live this life now, and while it's incredibly unconventional, she trusts her eldritch partner more than she ever did her family and is perfectly content with what she does.
